Almost all basement structures are likely to be
subjected to water pressure during some period of their life.
For basements up to 4m in depth, the waterproofing system should be designed
for a head of water three-quarters the depth of the basement. In deeper
basements the head of water can be expected to be 1m below ground level.
BS8102:1990 considers that ‘drained protection’ in other words, a cavity
drain membrane fitted to the structure is the most effective and trouble
free type of water resisting construction.
The range of cavity Drain membranes with Newton System 500 allow for any
moisture ingress to be controlled, drained and discharged from the
structure.
When Newton System 500 is fitted to the walls and floor structure, the
membranes create a dry and habitable inner environment, whilst the water
proofing carries on unnoticed behind the system.
